Argus\u00a0<\/em>\/\/\u00a01990\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Deux tableaux (Argus<\/em> 1 et 2, 200 x 200 cm) construits \u00e0 partir du mythe grec de Panopt\u00e8s (Argus pour les Romains), le g\u00e9ant aux 100 yeux, toujours en veille. Charg\u00e9 par H\u00e9ra de surveiller Zeus, Panopt\u00e8s est tu\u00e9 par Herm\u00e8s (envoy\u00e9 par Zeus) qui l\u2019a endormi au son de sa fl\u00fbte. H\u00e9ra jette la d\u00e9pouille constell\u00e9e d\u2019yeux sur la queue d\u2019un oiseau blanc de l\u2019Olympe (le paon).<\/span>
\nDans la suite Argus<\/em>, les motifs d\u2019yeux rythment la surface du tableau comme celle du corps monstrueux du G\u00e9ant dans le mythe. Le voilage pictural agit sur l\u2019image comme le charme de la lyre d\u2019Herm\u00e8s agit sur Argus.\u00a0<\/span>
\nLa peinture nous regarde, mais elle devient d\u00e9pouille en une all\u00e9gorie de la vigilance.<\/span><\/p>\n
